Summer Reading

Summer is in full swing and I am busy! I know you are too but summer is also a great time to read. I love to go sit out under a shade tree at about three in the afternoon and read. A glass of iced tea and some good books refresh my spirits and carry me thru the rest of the day.

I’m deep into The Life-Changing Magic of Tidying Up . This is not your run of the mill “how to organize” book. Marie Kondo’s philosophy is like no other and the books reads more like a trip into self discover than a dry how to organize text. This book is all about finding and living in joy! That”s a concept I can get behind. Now there is still a practical aspect to removing clutter and from trying her methods, I can tell you it really does work. My daughter listened to the audio book and she really enjoyed it.

I am lost as to a fiction book. I don’t know if you have ever experienced this but I finished a book last night and have no idea what read next. So this morning I decided to poke around the MidYork website and decided to try the select reads service. It was pretty neat. I could instantly go to the genre I wanted and get some recommendations for a new book. There are booklists, author spotlights and a my selectreads where you can sign up for a weekly bulletin featuring your favorite genres and subjects. I think I’ll give that a try. This morning I already found three books to put on hold and I’m off to find one I can go pick up today.

You know where I’ll be tomorrow at three!

Happy Reading,
