Winter reading suggestions

While contemplating this weeks post I realized I was in a funk. Do you ever get the “post great book” blues? This happens when you have just finished a great book, or even worse a great series, and nothing else you pick up to read seems to satisfy. Well I’m there now but I am a being that must read daily, so what to do? I was explaining my dilemma to Renee at the library and she suggested I take a look at some local authors.

Local authors, we do have those and in many different genres. CNY books has lists by genre, year and author. It’s an extensive and interesting site to visit. Log Cabin Books is located right in Hamilton, New York and has books and ebooks.

So you want to try something new but don’t want to buy an author until you’re sure you like them, check out some from the library. How about some lovely nonfiction options.

I’m sure most of you have heard of The Pompey Hollow Book Club. There are three books in the series and feature locals from Delphi Falls. The series is set right after WWII and prompts the reader to remember that unique time in history and what it was like for kids and teens at the time.

I have to say the cover certainly reminds me of my Grandfather! Well I’m off to explore some new local authors. What about you, any good book recommendations?
