The Rose Code by Kate Quinn

“A beautiful blue-blooded debutante, a tart-tongued London shop-girl, and a shy crossword-solving spinster join the war against Nazi Germany as codebreakers of Bletchley Park, only to find that the real puzzle lies inside the Park itself as a traitor sets them against each other in a betrayal reaching past the end of the war.”

From author Kate Quinn’s website

The Rose Code is a thrilling tale of historical fiction and mystery set at the very real center of Allied codebreaking during World War II. Readers will sympathize with Osla, Mab, Beth, and their colleagues at Bletchley Park who work tirelessly to help break the German’s military codes, but the pressure, and secrets that must be kept, cause the bonds of friendship to fray.

I found myself rooting for the three heroines through laughter, shock, and tears, furiously flipping the book’s pages until I reached the exhilarating conclusion. (Heather Elia – Library Trustee)
