Come and visit the new exhibit by the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR), which will be on display through Wednesday, February 28th. The DAR is a lineage-based membership service organization for women who are directly descended from a person involved in the United States’ struggle for independence.

On exhibit will be profiles of many patriots from the local central New York area. There will be information on where to locate final resting places of local ancestors, their backgrounds, and deeds performed in service of the American Revolution.

A non-profit group, DAR promote education and patriotism. Did you know there is also a National Society of the Children of the American Revolution? You can learn more about that organization, too, which is also on display.

You are cordially invited to a reception on Saturday, February 17th, 10:00 a.m. till noon when you can meet local DAR members of the Fayetteville-Owahgena Chapter, investigate your heritage, and enjoy light refreshments.

This will be an excellent opportunity for members of the community to meet their local DAR members, learn about the American Revolution, its impact on the local area, and how to find out more about their very own Revolutionary War Patriots.
