4-H Youth Development

4-H is the youth development program of Cornell Cooperative Extension of Madison County, linking resources from Cornell University with the young people of our community. 4-H creates opportunities for youth to develop skills, practical knowledge and wisdom through observing, doing and reflecting on experiences. This “learning by doing” learning model has been active and successful for over 100 years.

4-H provides a framework on which young people can build self-confidence, responsibility, and generosity through club project activities, travel to 4-H events, and community service activities. 4-H members are likely to excel in school, lead their peers, and give to their communities.

Becoming a member in 4-H can take you places you have never been before! If you are between 8 and 19 years of age you can become a 4-H member. Find out How 4-H can benefit your child and family.
